The City of Thomasville is currently accepting applications for its Budget Billing Plan (BBP), designed to make monthly utility costs more predictable. Because utility bills can vary based on usage, this program allows customers to pay a fixed monthly amount, helping to better manage household budgets and avoid unexpected fluctuations.
“Customers enrolling in the Budget Billing Plan pay a similar amount each month based on the average of their previous 12 months of utilities usage,” said Mark Parrillo, Managing Director of Customer Service. “The BBP helps customers minimize the fluctuation in their monthly utility bill when excessive temperatures in the summer and winter impact their monthly usage.”
The Budget Billing Plan operates in a 12-month cycle. At the close of the program year, the customer’s account is reviewed and reconciled. Any overpayment or underpayment remaining on a customer’s account is settled before the next BBP cycle begins.
According to Parrillo, the City of Thomasville offers customers numerous ways to save on their utility bills. “From the BBP to the On-Bill Financing Program, free energy audits and beyond, we are always striving for ways to help customers budget smarter and spend wiser.”
To enroll in the Budget Billing Plan, residential utility customers must have a minimum of 12 months of continuous service and be up to date with all utility accounts and payments. The City of Thomasville will accept applications for the BBP from April 1 until April 30. The next opportunity to enroll in the BBP will be October 1, 2026.
