North Stevens Street between West Jerger Street and West Webster Street will be closed temporarily to repair damaged water and sanitary sewer mains. Once the repairs have been made, that block of North Stevens Street will be repaved. The road is expected to be re-opened to thru traffic by the end of August. During the time of the repair, traffic will be detoured to Oak Street.
“Our goal is to minimize disruption to residents that live and travel in the area. When we have utility lines that fail, it is necessary to repair or replace them. We try to schedule these repairs so they have the least impact on residents and traffic in the area,” said Wayne Newsome, P.E., City Engineer. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as these necessary repairs are made.”
