FORM BASED UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE – UPDATING THE CODES THAT BUILD THOMASVILLE’S BUILDINGS, STREETS AND PUBLIC SPACES

Earlier this month, the City of Thomasville hosted a series of public meetings to gather input from local citizens, businesses and organizations on some of the challenges our community faces with our existing Land Development Codes. JONES ST. CONSTRUCTION AND DETOUR PLANNED

Construction is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 17 on Jones Street. The work will begin Thursday morning and should be completed by the end of the day. Jones Street will be closed to thru travelers from Lester Street to Fletcher Street. CONSTRUCTION CONTINUING IN FLETCHERVILLE COMMUNITY

Construction is underway today on Wright Street between Hopkins Street and Bryant Street. A detour will be in place taking travelers from Wright Street to Fern Street, through Lester Street onto Hopkins Street and back on to Wright Street. LESTER ST. CONSTRUCTION AND DETOUR PLANNED

Construction is underway today on Lester Street. Detours are in place that will take traffic down Fern Street to Fletcher Street then down College Street to Lester Street. TPD WARNS OF UTILITY PAYMENT SCAM

It may be a new year, but Thomasville Police Department warns that the same old scams are making the rounds. According to Assistant Chief Eric Hampton, reports have been received by TPD of City of Thomasville Utilities customers receiving calls demanding immediate payment by telephone for utility services. “These types of calls are not unusual, and they are a fairly common method for scamming unsuspecting people out of money,” said Hampton. “A good rule of thumb is to never, ever...

Construction on College Street is planned for this Thursday, January 10, 2019. There will be a detour in place for this area in order to complete a water main tap that runs across the roadway.
