SUNDAY ALCOHOL SALES PASS; EFFECTIVE MAY 1ST

The results are in, and Thomasville voters overwhelming supported a referendum that would allow the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages on Sundays in the city of Thomasville. The new law will go into effect on Monday, May 1st, making Sunday, May 7th the first Sunday that alcohol can be purchased. STEVENS STREET CLOSED FOR IMPROVEMENTS

The one-way section of South Stevens Street, from West Jackson Street to Remington Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic starting Monday, March 20, 2017 for complete re-construction. The roadway will be reconstructed with sidewalk, curb and gutter, and new asphalt paving. It is expected to take at least three weeks to complete this construction. CITY CELEBRATES LEGACY OF LT. HENRY O. FLIPPER

On March 17th at 12 noon, the City of Thomasville and the West Point Society of Tallahassee will host an event at the Flipper Cemetery that will unveil a new bronze burial marker for Lt. Henry O. Flipper and granite markers for his parents.
