COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION PUBLIC NOTICE Article PhotoA resolution was passed at the January 29th meeting of the Thomasville City Council authorizing staff to move forward with submittal of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for Phase 2 of the Fletcherville community. The CDBG grant application will include rehabilitation of water and sewer mains in the area as well as street, sidewalk, and drainage improvements. As part of the application process, a pre-application public hearing will be conducted at the regular City Council meeting on Monday, February 26, 2018. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, located at 144 E. Jackson Street.

Last fall, the City of Thomasville was awarded $750,000 for multi infrastructure improvements in the Fletcherville community. Additional funds for the completion of Phase 1 will be allocated from the 2012 SPLOST. The project will include sewer rehab, water main replacement, drainage improvements, resurfacing, and sidewalk construction on various streets within the target area.
