ELECTRIC ENGINEERING TECH I

Employee in this position will help coordinate construction, maintenance and analysis of electric distribution system. Employee is responsible for spotting electric for new services and security lights; preparing drawings and work orders as necessary for new services and maintenance; maintaining maps for electric utilities; calculating transformer and conductor sizes based on customer supplied load data; aiding electrical personnel in the restoration of electrical services during emergencies and preparing dig and pole transfer notifications.

An Associate’s Degree and three years of experience are required. Must have experience with various computer software programs including Word, Excel, Access and AutoCad; should be inclined toward engineering, drafting or associated work. Also, should be ITS certified or able to become certified within six months of employment.

Starting salary is $21.00/hr. Open until filled.


EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/CDL, SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT

Candidate will be required to operate heavy equipment in all types of weather and conditions. The operator is assigned a route and must meet the equipment and demands of the route. Experience in the operation of Front Loader, Side Loader, Grapple Hook and Roll Off is preferred. All applicants must have the minimum of a Class B CDL license. The candidate is also required to work long hours and on weekends and holidays as needed.

Starting salary is $15.50/hr. Position open until filled.


EOP/CDL, WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT

Candidate will operate equipment such as backhoes, excavator, trenchers, dump truck, vac-con, sewer camera system and pipe fusion equipment. The candidate must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions; knowledge of tools associated with utility systems; respond to emergency calls after hours within 30 minutes; handle on-call duties after training period; read and interpret blueprints; assist in installing, repairing and maintaining sewer mains and lines. Candidate must be able to adapt to working in cold, wet and hot weather.

One year of pipeline construction, equipment operation, plumbing, or related experience preferred or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Candidate must have a valid Georgia CDL or the ability to obtain one within six months.

Starting salary is $14.25/hr. Open until filled.


BROADBAND INSTALLER APPRENTICE

Candidate must be able to perform new cable installations from the system tap to the customer’s equipment interface. This includes aerial/underground drops and inside wiring to customer’s video, telephone and data devices. Candidate must be familiar with the various types of equipment utilized by CNS and customer owned equipment. Candidate must be capable of heavy lifting and ladder climbing to heights greater than 25 feet. Candidate must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing customer problems and be able to take after hour calls on a rotational basis

Starting salary is $13.25/hr. Open until filled.


FIREFIGHTER, THOMASVILLE FIRE RESCUE

Get your start in a challenging new career! Go as far as you want in the fire service! We’ll train you to be a Firefighter and EMT and get you the training, education, and certifications you need to be successful as a career Firefighter. Once hired you will attend the Georgia Fire Academy (GFA). This eight-week course consist of 345 hours of rigorous training that includes classroom-based lecture and practical skills building sessions. You will receive transportation, room and board, and a salary while attending the academy. There you will earn your Firefighter 1 (NPQ)/Haz-Mat Awareness and Operations Level certifications. Once you graduate from the GFA, we further your education and training with Firefighter 2 (NPQ) and your EMT (National) certifications within the first year and six months. Once you have completed these certifications, we offer you Haz-Mat Technician, Engineer, and Fire Inspector certifications. You can even attend Fire and EMS related college degree programs while on duty. We want you to be successful in the fire service!
