Fire Chief Tim Connell of Thomasville Fire Rescue has been selected to serve a two-year term on the Regional Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council (REMSAC) representing Region 8, effective July 1, 2024.
Chief Connell expressed his appreciation for being chosen to represent the City of Thomasville, stating, "Serving on the Board allows me to work alongside a highly regarded group of EMS and Trauma professionals to support the significant emergency management practices we need to continue to serve our communities."
The Council serves as the local coordinating entity in each EMS Region in Georgia. REMSAC’s members work closely with the Regional EMS Director to provide support, education, and guidance related to their responsibilities as the designated local coordinating entity for their EMS Region.
This appointment reflects Chief Connell's demonstrated ability to lead emergency management services. The Commission on Professional Credentialing® designated him as Chief Fire Officer in 2023, highlighting his excellence in seven measured components including experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association membership, community involvement, and technical competence.
“Chief Connell is an incredible asset to our community and organization,” said Chris White, Interim City Manager. “His designation as a board member of the Regional EMS Advisory Council provides a critical public safety function with a wide-ranging impact for our local citizens and businesses, now stretching statewide. He is committed to serving the community and the incredible men & women of TFR and Georgia.”
