Several City of Thomasville Utilities customers may have inadvertently received payment reminder messages in error earlier today. Due to a billing system error, a test message was mistakenly sent out to customers reminding them of an approaching or past due date. Customers are advised to disregard the payment reminder messages that were received Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018.
“We apologize to our customers that may have mistakenly received this message,” said Karis Mills, Director of Customer Service. “Unfortunately, a test message somehow was actively deployed to our customers, many of whom had already made payment on their account prior to their due date. We ask our customers who received the payment reminder to please disregard the message.”
Mills said that it is not necessary for customers to call to verify their payment status if they know they have already made their payments in advance of their due dates. However, customers who wish to verify that their payment was received are encouraged to use the Utilities Online feature on Thomasville.org. Customers may also utilize the City’s mobile app or the automated voice attendant, which can be accessed by calling 227-7001 and choosing option two and then option one at the prompts.
“By following the prompts utilizing each of our customer technology tools, customers can verify that they have a zero balance and that no payment is due at this time,” said Mills.
