The City of Thomasville offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in observance of Independence Day. Because of the holiday observance, some City services will be affected. IMPROVEMENTS ANNOUNCED FOR CHEROKEE LAKE PARK

The City of Thomasville has announced an improvement plan for Cherokee Lake Park that will eventually connect the Community Trail with one of Thomasville’s most popular public green spaces. Sam Barrett’s love of golf fueled his idea for his recent Eagle Scout project. TEMPORARY STREET CLOSING - NORTH STEVENS STREET

Beginning Wednesday, June 21, 2017, North Stevens Street between West Jackson Street and West Jefferson Street will be closed to thru traffic. The closure is so that a new water service line can be installed. During this period, local traffic (i.e. delivery trucks, employees, etc.) will be accommodated to the maximum extent possible. The City of Thomasville’s Water Treatment Plant provides award-winning quality water to Thomasville. For the past five years, water treatment staff members have earned the Gold Award from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for meeting 100 percent of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Requirements. TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURE FOR EAST JACKSON STREET

Beginning Monday, May 15, 2017, the City of Thomasville Utilities’ Natural Gas Department will close the inside eastbound lane on East Jackson Street between Hadley Drive and Cottage Lane to perform testing of the natural gas lines in this location.
