COMMUNITY MEETINGS CONTINUE FOR STORMWATER AND PARKS & RECREATION MASTER PLANS

There are two additional community meetings scheduled this week for community input for the City of Thomasville Stormwater and Parks & Recreation Master Plans. City staff encourages residents to attend one of the remaining meetings to help shape the future of local parks and stormwater systems for the City of Thomasville.

“We value citizen input to develop comprehensive plans for our stormwater and parks and recreation systems,” noted Sherri Cain, Community Engagement Manager for the City of Thomasville. “This input will help develop City of Thomasville maintenance and capital improvement plans that benefit the community.”

Meetings will be Tuesday, March 29 from 11:30 am-1 pm at The Ritz Amphitheater, 131 South Stevens Street, and Thursday, March 31 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Disciples of Jesus Ministries Church, 228 Augusta Avenue. Recent meetings were also held earlier this month at the Thomas County Public Library and Paradise Park.

Cain says citizens will have opportunities to review maps, participate in surveys, and talk to city staff about ideas and suggestions related to recreation and stormwater needs. “Feedback from public meetings, focus groups, and online surveys are critical to the overall success of these plans. We encourage the public to join us during one of these remaining meetings.”
