Georgia & Florida Railway (GFRR) has notified the City of Thomasville of scheduled maintenance and repairs on the railroad crossings along West Walcott Street between Oak Street and North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and Oak Street between West Walcott Street and Merill Street on Thursday, August 12th.
“According to the information provided to the City of Thomasville, the railroad crossings along West Walcott Street between Oak Street and North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and Oak Street between West Walcott Street and Merill Street will be temporarily closed,” said Chris White, Executive Director of Utilities. “GFRR expects the work to take place between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 pm. and to last one day. These dates are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.”
The City will provide updates on this scheduled work as it is made available from GFRR. Travelers in the area are encouraged to exercise caution while utilizing detours, be aware of potential traffic delays or select an alternate route.
