The City of Thomasville is partnering with local veterans groups for the third year in a row to present the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 10th at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Thomasville. The community is encouraged to attend the parade to celebrate the men and women who have served in our U.S. military.
Veterans Day officially became a national holiday in 1938; it’s a day to show respect and gratitude to those who were willing to serve our country. “The City of Thomasville stands behind our local veteran’s groups and we honor them for their service and commitment,” says Dustin Infinger, City of Thomasville Events Manager. “We encourage our community to join these brave men and women for the 2018 Veterans Day Parade to show them our support and appreciation for their service.” The parade will be followed by a ceremony in front of the historic courthouse at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the parade.
The City of Thomasville is calling on local groups affiliated with military service members to participate in the parade. Other community organizations that wish to participate are also encouraged to enter. Parade entry information is available online at thomasvillega.com (click on the link under Upcoming Events) or by calling the Visitors Center at (229) 228-7977.
