UTILITY WORK SCHEDULED FOR FLETCHER AND LOOMIS STREETS

City of Thomasville Utility crews have scheduled work along Fletcher and Loomis Street beginning next week. Beginning on Monday January 27th, crews will be replacing wastewater mains on Loomis Street between South Street and Rosedale Avenue. OFFICER HALEY JENSEN BECOMES FIRST FEMALE K-9 OFFICER WITH TPD

The Thomasville Police Department recently made history by announcing their first female K-9 officer, Officer Haley Jensen. Officer Jensen joined Thomasville Police Department in December 2017. She completed K-9 handler training in October 2019. “When I joined TPD, becoming a K-9 handler was my dream job,” Officer Jensen stated, “Being able to make my dream come true while serving and protecting my community is a great feeling.” The dream didn’t come easily, though, she said....

City of Thomasville crews will begin work along South Pinetree Blvd. beginning Thursday, January 9th. The work is necessary to stabilize a storm water drainage cross drain at the intersection of Longleaf Drive and South Pinetree Blvd. The work is expected to take place between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. TPD ACHIEVES ADVANCED LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCREDITATION THROUGH CALEA

In November of 2019, Thomasville Police Chief Troy Rich and Accreditation Manager Lieutenant Kathy Baillargeon traveled to Covington, Kentucky where on behalf of the Thomasville Police Department, they received the department’s 10th Commission for Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) re-accreditation award. Thomasville City Manager Alan Carson has named Tim Connell Interim Fire Chief for Thomasville Fire Rescue. The appointment is effective January 1st.
