Balfour Park
As part of the 2023 Thomasville Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Balfour Park is preparing for renovations. Community input, gathered from an online survey (September-October 2024), a public visioning charrette (October 12, 2024), and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan were all used to prioritize the future features and programming at Balfour Park and develop a design concept for Phase 1, with assistance from the professional design team from Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. Project priorities include a central pavilion, new restrooms and playground equipment, a water feature, and parking enhancements. In August 2025, the City of Thomasville received a $500,000 grant from the Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to assist with Balfour Park renovations.
Phase 1 Improvements include:
- Playground Area
- Splashpad
- Central Pavilion
- Restroom Facilities
- Parking Area

Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant [ LWCF] | $500,000
