Traditional Neighborhoods Urban Redevelopment Plan
The Traditional Neighborhoods Urban Redevelopment Area (TN-URA) was established to align with the Comprehensive Plan’s traditional neighborhoods future character areas and infill development investment sector strategies. The corresponding Urban Redevelopment Plan (Plan) will serve as the foundation to a multi-faceted approach to improving housing, economic development, and physical development in our traditional neighborhoods, which have the greatest potential to build upon their existing assets.
The purpose of the Plan is to help the City of Thomasville accommodate future development in ways that promote quality neighborhood investments for a more livable community and vibrant local economy. The Plan sets forth a workable program for utilizing appropriate private and public resources to address blight and encourage neighborhood revitalization and infill development within the Traditional Neighborhoods Urban Redevelopment Area. A copy of the plan can be found here.
The Traditional Neighborhoods Urban Redevelopment Plan was created in accordance with Georgia’s Urban Redevelopment Law (O.C.G.A. §36-61-1 et. seq.). City Council adopted the plan by resolution on May 8th, 2023.
