CITY OF THOMASVILLE ANNOUNCES BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION

The national celebration of Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions of African Americans to our nation’s history. CITY OF THOMASVILLE OFFERS TOOLS FOR HIGHER ENERGY USAGE

January 2018 will go down as one of the colder months for Thomasville in recent years. In fact, during the first 22 days of the year, high temperatures were below 60 degrees for 14 days. In comparison, 2017 only saw three days during the same timeframe where the maximum temperature was below 60 degrees. CITY OF THOMASVILLE ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT RECEIVES SAFETY AWARD

The City of Thomasville Utilities’ Electric Department has been awarded the Electric Cities of Georgia 2017 Jeff Cook Award for Safety Excellence. Nine ECG members were named Jeff Cook Award recipients after selection by a peer review board. The review was based on a 23-point evaluation of every aspect of industry safety, including training, best practices and safety record. CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN AT CHEROKEE LAKE

Construction is set to begin next month at Cherokee Lake Park. The project, which was started last summer, will include repairs to the spillway dam and a widened trail on the west side, among other repairs and enhancements. The project will also connect the park’s walking paths to the 15-mile Community Trail, which will ultimately connect all city parks and neighborhoods.
