- Do Your Homework: Research the City of Thomasville and the job you want. Be prepared.

- Ask the Interviewer Questions: Get more from your interview by asking questions that will help you learn about our organization and the role you may take on within it.
- Make childcare arrangements and don’t bring family members or friends to the office on the day of your interview.
- Punctuality: Arrive early for your interview. If you arrive on time. You’re already late.
- Dress to Impress: Avoid hats, tank tops, shorts, revealing clothing and gum. Poor hygiene says a lot about you, before you even open your mouth to speak. HR will be happy to offer dress suggestions for your job interview
- Practice Good Interview Etiquette: Turn off mobile devices or leave them in your vehicle even a phone on vibrate can be distracting.
- Social media: Make sure you’re proud of the image you’re putting out on social media.
- Be friendly to everyone you meet. Courtesy is one of the City’s service standards.
