The City of Thomasville will be obtaining pavement samples along several roadways beginning Monday, May 20. The samples are being gathered in preparation for future resurfacing plans. The City of Thomasville’s Municipal Auditorium will be undergoing some necessary air conditioning repairs this Thursday, May 9. The repairs being completed will require access to the building’s roof, meaning the utilization of heavy equipment on a portion of Crawford Street. WASTEWATER IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED ON EAST PINETREE BOULEVARD

Beginning on Monday, April 15, East Pinetree Boulevard will be closed between Old Monticello Road and Hollywood Drive in order to complete several necessary repairs to wastewater lines. To minimize traffic delays, City of Thomasville utility crews will begin working the evening of April 15 starting at 10:00 pm. The work is expected to last into the morning of Tuesday, April 16. Travelers in the Gordon Avenue area between Mimosa Drive and Archbold Avenue are advised to use caution and expect detours on Tuesday, March 26. An improvement project that was first envisioned in 2017 for South Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive will continue this week when City of Thomasville contractors complete work on an eight foot sidewalk along the south side of Varnedoe Street from South MLK, Jr. Drive to Varnedoe Park. Construction is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 17 on Jones Street. The work will begin Thursday morning and should be completed by the end of the day. Construction is underway today on Wright Street between Hopkins Street and Bryant Street. A detour will be in place taking travelers from Wright Street to Fern Street, through Lester Street onto Hopkins Street and back on to Wright Street. LESTER ST. CONSTRUCTION AND DETOUR PLANNED

Construction is underway today on Lester Street. Detours are in place that will take traffic down Fern Street to Fletcher Street then down College Street to Lester Street. Construction on College Street is planned for this Thursday, January 10, 2019. There will be a detour in place for this area in order to complete a water main tap that runs across the roadway.
