South Pinetree Boulevard Improvement Project

The South Pinetree Boulevard improvement project initially began as a project initiated by Thomas County that addressed the stretch of South Pinetree Boulevard that extends between West Jackson Street and Magnolia Street. In August 2017, it was determined that the City of Thomasville owned a majority of the right-of-way in the proposed improvement area. Over the next several months, both the Thomasville City Council and the Thomas County Board of Commissioners negotiated an intergovernmental agreement that would assign the responsibility of the right-of-way along Pinetree Boulevard. In January 2018, the Thomasville City Council unanimously approved this intergovernmental agreement, which gave the City of Thomasville responsibility of the right-of-way for Pinetree Boulevard from West Jackson Street to East Jackson Street. This agreement was then approved by the Thomas County Board of Commissioners in February 2018.
