COMMUNITY TRAIL WORK CONTINUES

Another phase of the Community Trail project will soon be under way. This phase will complete the first park to park connection in the City-wide project linking the Ritz Amphitheater with Paradise Park. CHEROKEE LAKE PARK RIBBON CUTTING PLANNED FOR SEPTEMBER 8TH

One of Thomasville’s most loved public greenspaces is now reopened for the community’s enjoyment. The City of Thomasville is hosting two additional public listening sessions for our community to provide input regarding proposed improvements for South Pinetree Boulevard. CITY RECEIVES $446K GRANT FOR SOUTH MLK, JR. DRIVE

Gov. Nathan Deal last week announced that the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) awarded approximately $18.1 million in funding for 19 transportation infrastructure projects across the state through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB). The City of Thomasville was one of the recipients, with an award of $446,899.30 for upgrades to South Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. “The grant will be used to create a new multi-use trail along South Martin Luther King, Jr....

PROGRESS CONTINUES AT CHEROKEE LAKE

While there have been delays in an improvement project for one of Thomasville’s most popular parks, City staff reports that construction continues at Cherokee Lake. The City of Thomasville is hosting a public listening session for residents along South Pinetree Boulevard to come and give their thoughts on proposed improvements for the area. CHEROKEE LAKE IMPROVEMENTS IN FULL SWING

Construction has officially begun at Cherokee Lake Park. The project was started last summer and will include repairs to the spillway dam and a widened trail on the west side, among other repairs and enhancements. The project will also connect the park’s walking paths to the 15-mile Community Trail, which will ultimately connect all city parks and neighborhoods.
