Nathan Deal last week announced that the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) awarded approximately $18.1 million in funding for 19 transportation infrastructure projects across the state through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB). Thomasville is the target for two road projects by the Georgia Department of Transportation. While work is progressing now for U.S. 19, a similar U.S. 84 project is slated to begin this fall that will involve resurfacing the roadway in its entirety within the Thomasville city limits. The Jackson-Remington connecting section of the Multi-Use Trail is now complete and open for use.
