THOMASVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT HONORS HEROIC ACT WITH OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Officer Rachel Pineda with the Thomasville Police Department has been chosen as Officer of the Year for her heroic act in 2023. Thomasville Police Department Detective Lisa Maxwell was recently honored by the United States Secret Service (USSS) with the award for Top Forensic Examiner in 2019. AUTOMATED SPEED ENFORCEMENT OF WEST JACKSON STREET SCHOOL ZONE BEGINS

The school zone on West Jackson Street near Harper Elementary School began automated speed enforcement on Thursday, February, 4th. This enforcement zone is part of the partnership between the City of Thomasville Police Department and RedSpeed USA. The partnership, which began in October of 2020, involved the implementation of a program for automated speed enforcement in school zones. TPD K-9 UNIT WINS AWARDS AT K-9 TRIALS

The Thomasville Police Department’s K-9 unit has recently returned from the United States Police Canine Association (USCPA) annual K9 Competition and Certifications, where TPD earned high marks in all phases of competition.
