Thomasville experienced the onset of Hurricane Debby starting Sunday, with heavy winds and rain making their presence felt across the city. By early Monday morning, over 2,000 City utilities customers were without power. Thomasville witnessed the onset of Hurricane Idalia's fury with strong winds and rain starting Tuesday evening. Mutual aid crews from Newnan, Covington, Lafayette, Marietta, and Calhoun also arrived to wait on standby and assist with possible restoration efforts.
