CITY OF THOMASVILLE SET TO BEGIN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The City of Thomasville is set to begin a large improvement project on its Wastewater Treatment Facility, improving the useful life of the facility by 20 plus years. Work will consist of various mechanical, piping, and electrical replacement along with concrete rehabilitation work and reinforcement to the gravity sewer trunk line that leads into the Wastewater Treatment Facility. TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR SEWARD STREET

City of Thomasville Wastewater Department crews will begin work along Seward Street on Saturday, August 7th. Crews will be repairing a service line near 115 Seward Street. The work is scheduled to take place between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and is expected to last one day. There will be a temporary road closure that will be open to local traffic only while the work is being completed. CITY AWARDED EDA GRANT FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

The City of Thomasville was recently awarded an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant of $2,000,000 from the U.S. Department of Commerce to improve the city’s wastewater treatment plant and to support current and future business needs. As an agency within the Department of Commerce, the EDA makes investments in economically distressed communities to create jobs for U.S. workers, promote American innovation, and accelerate long-term sustainable economic growth. “It is an...
