COMMUNITY TRAIL WORK CONTINUES

Another phase of the Community Trail project will soon be under way. This phase will complete the first park to park connection in the City-wide project linking the Ritz Amphitheater with Paradise Park. CHEROKEE LAKE PARK RIBBON CUTTING PLANNED FOR SEPTEMBER 8TH

AMPHITHEATER AND WEST JACKSON DISTRICT OFFICIALLY NAMED

The Thomasville City Council recently took steps to officially name the business district surrounding the 200 and 300 blocks of West Jackson Street and the amphitheater in downtown Thomasville. During regular session on July 23, 2018, a unanimous vote was cast to officially declare the area of West Jackson Street as The Bottom. City of Thomasville Administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to allow Team Thomasville members to mourn one of their own. TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WASHINGTON STREET

A portion of Washington Street will be temporarily closed to install a wastewater tap next Saturday, August 18, 2018. The area of East Washington Street between North Broad Street and North Crawford Street will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on August 18th. During construction, traffic will be detoured around East Washington Street via East Jefferson Street. Work is expected to be completed and the roadway reopened by 5 p.m. the same day.
