CARSON ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Thomasville City Manager J. Alan Carson has announced his retirement, capping off a career that spans more than thirty years in public service. FIRE AFFECTING WEST JACKSON STREET - DRIVE WITH CAUTION

Due to a fire in the area, West Jackson Street between College Street and MLK Drive is currently closed. Detours are in place. Thomasville Fire Rescue and multiple agencies are in defense mode actively fighting this fire. The City of Thomasville Water Department is responding to a water main break on Glenwood Drive and repairing the water main today and tomorrow. The work will be completed as soon as possible. City of Thomasville Utility Crews are doing emergency water main repair work today on Nottingham Drive between Friar Tuck Lane and Old Monticello Road. For crews to repair this water main, Nottingham Drive between Friar Tuck Lane and Old Monticello Road will be temporarily closed. The work is expected to last several hours.
